• The Hand Project Team Building Event

Our brand new team building event gives you the opportunity to build mechanical prosthetic hands to donate to people in developing countries where there's no health service.

What happens at a Hand Project event?

Suitable for groups of 8 – 2000+, the Hand Project is a unique and thought-provoking team building challenge. The event begins with a short introduction from the Hand Project, the organisation who developed the hands and distribute them to those who need them. This allows the group to understand more about the recipients of the donations and what a difference they’ll make to their lives.

The group will then split into teams of 4, with each team making one hand. Working with their non-dominant hands, each team will assemble the hands using the kits and instructions provided. After the event, the hands will be sent to the Hand Project for distribution in developing countries where access to health services are limited.

Why build and donate prosthetic hands?

2.4 million of the 3 million upper-limb amputees worldwide live in developing countries. The WHO estimate that less than 5% of these people have access to rehabilitation services.

The Hand Project helps give amputees the opportunity to regain independence by working with NGOs and charities in the developing world, delivering free prosthetic hands and training sessions for local orthopaedic technicians. The hands provided through this project are all made through corporate team building events across the world. o3e are proud to be the Hand Project’s UK partner.

Help change lives through the Hand Project team building challenge

This activity gives you and your team the opportunity to make a tangible donation which will impact people’s lives. Giving the gift of independence to allow recipients to do so many of the things so many of us take for granted – feeding and dressing themselves, writing their name, riding a bike – is one of the most powerful gifts you can give.
